Hey,

Jodie here, where photography is my poetry

Welcome to Jodie Carolyne Portraits, where I love to capture the essence of your family bonds, the love shared with those you hold dear, those intimate moments, and watching your confidence bloom in-font of my lens. My favourite time of day is sunrise. There is something beautiful about watching the first golden rays creep across the land, igniting everything in its path. Golden hour and blue hour is where the magic happens in my opinion, so most shoot times work around these special parts of the day.

Growing up in the Top End, I have always loved the outdoors and spent hours in the bush, photographing everything around me. Spending hours at waterfalls, waterholes, and floodplains. I have been with my partner coming up to 9 years now and we have the most incredible adventures together. We have two border collies, Coco, 14 and Odie, 11. They are our babies. We also have two chickens, Chicka and Boom. I have a "slight" plant obsession, haha, and our home is filled with plants.

We first moved to the Pilbara nearly four years ago. Originally, only planning to come for 6 months, we quickly fell in love and settled down in Karratha. An amazing opportunity for my partner then landed us in Wickham. You will find me braving those roasting hot summer mornings on the beach as I volunteer for the West Pilbara Turtle Program and thriving in those cool winter days filled with camping, bonfires and fresh morning swims. From the rich red earth, secluded water oasis's in the dry landscape to the beautiful beaches and turquoise waters, this place is magic and the perfect backdrop to capture your precious memories.

I love seeing the connections, love and laughter you share with your special people and my goal is to capture something you will treasure for years to come.

So thank you again for stopping by, I look forward to seeing lots of new faces and capturing many precious moments in the year to come.

Talk soon

My Approach

I’m all about capturing the authentic connection between you and your loved ones—those real, fleeting moments that you can treasure and look back on for years to come. Every relationship is unique, and my goal is to document the small, imperfect, and intimate moments that make yours special. Whether you're laughing, snuggling, or exploring together, I’m there to freeze those memories in time.

During your session, I’ll guide you with prompts, but I believe in letting the magic happen naturally. We’ll run, jump, and play, focusing on movement rather than static poses to tell the true story of your relationship.

All outdoor sessions are scheduled around sunrise or sunset to take advantage of the soft, golden light. In-home sessions are typically held in the morning for the best natural light.

My Fave Things

My partner and friends have joked that they want to come back as my dogs, They are my kids, my best friends.  Unfortunately, we recently lost Coco and I have felt her  absence immensely. Odie lives by my side, and his constant presence is a joy. He has the most beautiful loving nature.
